Even with Flooding and Excess Rainfall – Roots Get Dug! July 22, 2008

Agronomist Mike Petersen and Mark Griffith, OMI Farm Manager work long hours in the good ole Nebraska heat of late July to measure the 55 day old corn and soybean plants. Tillage comparisons, three company fertilizer studies, corn variety trials, and soybean trials all fill their plate this week.

The data/information they are gathering will help Orthman folks better explain the ramifications of precision placement with strip-till as fall comes around the corner and a great deal of growers are deciding to change their tillage practices.
Intern for summer holds up a prolific rooted corn plant during the study. Washed to show how well roots are performing under strip-till conditions.
