Seed-ready raised beds in a single pass

For residue management in crops raised on beds, nothing outperforms the Orthman Raised- Seedbed Conditioner. In just one pass, it removes the previous crop’s root systems and prepares the top of the bed for planting by removing the crust and leveling the surface. Featuring a combination of sweeps, spiral chopping blades and double-conditioning baskets, the Raised Bed Conditioner breaks up soil clods and then levels, firms and aerates the seedbed for planting.

Configured to match your needs, the Raised-Seedbed Conditioner is available with two finishing choices: the dual conditioning baskets or the Harrow and Leveling board option.

Providing plenty of flexibility in your operation, the Raised Bed Conditioner features a front sweep that is adjustable in height and pitch to adapt to differing field conditions.

Heavy-Duty Choppers

The full-width spiral chopper reel features seven high-carbon steel blades designed to maintain a sharp edge for maximum cutting power for the life of the blades. Extend your machine life even further with enormous 2.5” main shafts and bearings.

Rolling Baskets

The dual, rear rolling baskets feature a solid center shaft mounted on heavy-duty bearings to help ensure you stay in the field, spending less time doing daily maintenance.

Walking Tandem

The rear baskets are supported by a walking tandem beam that allows smooth travel and creates a seed-ready surface. More importantly, because down pressure on the rear baskets is fully adjustable, you can fine-tune the level of seedbed firmness to meet changing field conditions.

Harrow Board and Leveling Option

Harrow and Leveling Board Option

The massive 5-bar spike tooth harrow follows ground contours and is flexible to allow residue flow while it aggressively stirs the soil. The easy-to-adjust chain sections allow easy raising and lowering to conform to various soil and residue conditions.

Rear Leveling Board

The spring loaded rear leveling board mounted on leaf springs flattens and cleans off the top of the bed for a smooth seed-ready finish. The boards and springs are adjustable in height to match your conditions.

Patented Design

Orthman toolbars are designed around the original principles of the Orthman internal cylinder folding toolbar first developed in the 1970s. The toolbar’s innovative internal folding cylinder design allows the toolbar to fold while freeing up peripheral toolbar space that’s wasted in external folding cylinder models.

Precision Depth Control

For additional depth control, optional gauge wheels utilize heavy-duty hubs and an enclosed height-adjustment screw for easy, maintenance-free adjustments.
